How do you differentiate between honesty and rudeness?
Q. When I am honest from the heart, say the things I believe and feel, some people call it rudeness. I understand tact and use it when ever I can but, there are certain subjects that anger me sooo very much I cant temper my words. What do yall think? Do you apprecieate blatant honesty? A. I think your question has been successfully answered by many above. I'm more interested in what your question says about you. Though you may tend to be forthright and shoot from the hip with you questions and responses, that you ask the question tells me you have a sensitive side also. Meaning that you have probably fielded some criticism because of your approach. You ask the question at this point (the swing between manic and depressive (?) If you cultivated a negative response because of your approach, did they actually hear what you were saying? … [cont.]

Is honesty in the list of endangered species?
Q. They say, 'Honesty is the best policy.' Sadly, it seems to be but a policy that hardly, if ever, gets implemented! Everywhere you look in the society, dishonesty seems to be ruling the roost. How to put integrity, honesty, and values back into people?
Q. I recently misworded a question (I said morals instead of values) and it was perceived pretty roughtly. So I'll start fresh. How can we help Americans to gain back their integrity, honesty, and honor? Should parents be expecting more from their children, helping them out less? There is very clearly a lack of something in Americans. What do you think it is, and how do we get 'it' back?
Asked by Kaden's Mommy - Tue Dec 9 11:40:51 2008 - - 8 Answers - 0 Comments
A. Reparation...not gaining back...we can be better than we are. Parents and Society need to lead by example and also to prioritize child rearing above all else...it's the most important job in the world--being effective parents--we are creating our next generation and must do so with love, compassion and integrity; setting good examples to our children--and not to teach our kids that it's ok to negletcfully file children away while focusing on acquisition of material gain.

A. I believe in absolute honesty -- and, sometimes, I lie (usually "to not hurt another person's feelings). That said, consider this: by not being truthful to the other, isn't THAT more hurtful, whether or not they actually know they're being lied to? If you (or I) don't want to say something, rather than lying, can't we just say: I don't want to talk about it. That's certainly true, in my case! P.S. For me, betrayal is a form of lying. Both totally erode trust.

What is the difference between rudeness and honesty?
Q. What is the difference between rudeness and honesty? For example, if someone walked in the room with a horrible haircut or an ugly outfit or some situation like that, would it be rude to tell them that it looks bad or would it be honest? And why? Wow, a lot of good answers. I can't choose one so I'll put it to vote. Thanks guys!
Asked by Riya D - Fri Jun 12 01:58:58 2009 - - 12 Answers - 1 Comments
A. Honesty is simply telling the truth. Rudeness is the thoughtless lack of consideration for others feelings, disassociation from societal morays and values, and an asocial perspective of interpersonal communication. Judgement of another is really a personal opinion isn't it. If a person were to walk into a room with a horrible haircut or an ugly outfit...wouldn't it still be honest to say: That's a very unique hairstyle; I'm not sure it's pleasing to me. or Your outfit is very different.

How do Honesty Boxes actually work?
Q. I want to know, how exactly does the application work? Like, when somebody writes in a person's honesty box, isn't there always going to be some connection to the person's profile? Isn't there some way that you can find out who wrote a message but linking it back to the profile?
Asked by C.R. - Sun Dec 27 02:30:04 2009 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments
A. I haven't used this, try it out and see if it maintains a link between your profile and the message (eg. can you delete it or edit it?). It might just be connected to the profile of the owner of the box. If it is connected to you, or your info is saved somehow, you only have to worry about someone hacking it... or the application maker looking. That's a negligible risk.

A. The reason Wikipedia is not worthy of citation is because the sources it quotes are often misquoted themselves. This is where the problem is, not having read the original you are on shaky grounds. Your entire paper could fall apart.

A. If you click on "contacts" you can find more sims and try to get them to be your friends by looking at what they like to do and inviting them out. That's how I picked my friends. I picked people with only good traits and went out with them. Also buy the Sherlock Holmes book and read it to raise honesty.
